Private Piano Instruction

All ages and abilities

I always take a student-centered approach that affirms each student’s particular interests and abilities while furthering their technique, interpretation, and creativity at the piano. From absolute beginners both young and old, to recording artists with specific professional goals, to individuals with special needs, I welcome the chance to help all people be musical.

  • In-Home Piano Lessons

I offer piano lessons in student’s homes for people who live near me in Brooklyn, NY. I work with students of all ages and abilities, and especially enjoy the opportunity to bring music to whole families, splitting lesson time between parents and children or siblings.

Private piano lessons include weekly in person instruction and access to online tools to aid in practicing. You will have an ongoing set of lesson notes (shared with parents for younger students) to review everything we have covered together. I provide individual instructional videos made by me for my students to help with technique and practicing between lessons. You’ll also have access to online composition tools and sheet music for songs we are working on.

Additionally, all of my students are invited to participate in an annual Spring performance showcasing favorite songs we’ve learned or composed throughout the year.

I tailor all of my instruction to individual abilities and interests, working hard to keep students of all ages engaged in the learning process and excited about making music.

  • Virtual Piano Lessons

I offer remote lessons via Zoom for students anywhere in the world, including local students who are navigating COVID safety restrictions. Lessons are available for all ages and abilities and can be tailored to support my students wherever possible.

Remote lessons are held weekly, and my students also have access to online tools to aid in practicing. You will have an ongoing set of lesson notes (shared with parents for younger students) to review everything we have covered together. I produce individual instructional videos to help with technique and practicing between lessons. You will also have access to online composition software and sheet music for new songs we are working on.

My remote students are also invited to participate asynchronously in an annual virtual Spring performance showcasing favorite songs we’ve learned or composed throughout the year.

I work hard to keep students of all ages engaged in the learning process and excited about making music, even when we are working remotely.
